💚 Honoring Our Veterans 🤍

Manistique Middle High School invites our community's veterans and their families to join us for our Veteran's Day Assembly on Wednesday, November 11th at 11:00 am in the MHS auditorium.

Our students and staff are proud to gather in gratitude for those who have served our country. Your service, sacrifice, and stories are a living lesson in courage and commitment, and we would be honored to have you with us. Families are warmly welcome to attend.

Student of the Week

Aaliyah Sears (12th grade)

Michelle and Doug Sears, along with Manistique Middle High School is proud to recognize senior Emerald Gem, Aaliyah Sears, as the Student of the Week. A true leader both in and out of the classroom, Aaliyah serves as the Vice President of both the National Honor Society and Youth Entertaining Teens Interests, while active in the MHS Student Council. Aaliyah is a star student-athlete; she excels on both the Varsity Volleyball and Track and Field teams. Outside of her busy schedule, she enjoys running, hanging out with friends and family, and watching sports. Aaliyah's favorite course is her Dual Enrollment Mass Communications class, which is giving her a head start on her future aspirations. Following graduation, she plans to attend St. Norbert College, where she will compete on the Track & Field team while majoring in Communications with a minor in Marketing.

Due to bus driver shortage this fall, we have had to adjust our bus routes to cover a wider area of pick-ups and drop-offs, making some pick-up times quite early. This has been hard on families. However, we are happy to announce that starting Monday morning, October 26, our Turtle and Butterfly bus riders will start getting picked up 20 minutes later in the morning. This will set everyone who rides the Turtle and the Butterfly bus east of the Townline road ahead 20 minutes. Instead of a 6:20 am pickup for example, this would mean 6:40 am. This gives everyone extra time at home while ensuring that all our students make it to school at a decent time.

Thank you for your continued patience as we navigate these obstacles. In the coming weeks, we expect our Transportation Department to be fully staffed and able to resume our normal schedule.

🧡 Anti-Bullying Awareness Week | October 25–30 🧡

Next week, our Emeralds are showing that kindness matters! From mismatched socks and Twin Day to Orange Wednesday, superhero attire, and jerseys, each day is a reminder that everyone deserves to feel included, supported, and valued.

We’re also creating a “Be the I in KIND” photo wall, a Kindness Shines display, and daily announcements featuring bullying statistics to encourage students to recognize bullying behavior and take action to make a difference.

💚 Be an upstander. Include others. Choose kindness. Every Emerald counts! 💚

Our Manistique High School juniors explored possibilities at a Career Fair sponsored by the Delta County College and Career Access Network (DCCAN) and the Delta-Schoolcraft Intermediate School District. Students had the opportunity to learn about career paths, connect with professionals, and discover the education and training needed to turn their interests into future opportunities.

Thank you to DCCAN and DSISD for helping our Emeralds explore what’s possible beyond graduation! 💎💚🎓

Important temporary changes to bus routes:

Turtle bus riders now ride Butterfly Bus - pickup will be a half hour earlier than usual for these riders.

Butterfly riders West of Townline Rd will now ride the Cow Bus.

Existing riders on the Cow bus will be picked up 15 minutes earlier than usual.

All of these temporary changes stay in place until further notice, due to bus driver shortage.
