Today we want to congratulate our Health Educator, Lexi Otis, on receiving the Barbara A. Lange Award at the Wisconsin Health Educator Network (WHEN) Annual Meeting on October 7, 2026! 🎉

This award recognizes leadership and dedication to health education, prevention, and improving the health of Wisconsin communities. Lexi was nominated by state partners, with overwhelming support from local organizations.

We are especially proud of Lexi’s commitment to building partnerships, connecting people with resources, and turning ideas into meaningful action.

Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!

This 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲, let’s make sure fewer chairs are left empty. Meningococcal meningitis can strike suddenly, changing or ending a healthy person’s life within hours. Each empty chair represents someone lost — and families forever changed.

Make sure your teen is up to date on the vaccines that help prevent meningitis. Contact your child’s medical provider or your local public health department to check their immunization status.

🌎🐾 World Rabies Day 2026 🐾🌎

Rabies is preventable, and protecting our community starts with awareness! In recognition of World Rabies Day, remember to keep your pets’ rabies vaccinations up to date and avoid contact with bats, wildlife, and unfamiliar stray animals.

🦇 Never handle bats or wildlife with your bare hands.
💉 Keep your pets current on their rabies vaccinations.
🐾 Teach children not to approach or feed unfamiliar or wild animals.

Protect your pets. Protect your family. Protect our community. 💙🐶🐱
