A little Scarlet pride made its way back to Mankato West! ❤️

Scarlet alum Tyler Herwig stopped by to spend time with West Choir students, sharing his experiences and inspiring the next generation of musicians.

We love seeing our alumni return to where it all began and give back to the students who are following in their footsteps!

These student leaders will bring student perspectives to the table, collaborate with Board members and school administrators, and help shape the future of our district.

Two additional student representatives will be sworn in at a later date. We look forward to the ideas and leadership all five students will bring this school year!

🧡 Every Child Matters.

On September 30, students recognized Orange Shirt Day, a day to learn about and remember Indigenous children impacted by the residential school system.

American Indian Education (AIE) student leaders and students at Insite helped heat press Orange Shirt Day shirts for students to wear.

The day was inspired by Phyllis Webstad, who shared her experience of having a new orange shirt, given to her by her grandmother, taken from her when she attended a residential school at age six.

A day to learn, reflect and remember. 🧡

What a great two weeks of cultural exchange! 🇩🇪🇺🇸

Our high school students had the opportunity to welcome 18 students from Germany and share what life is like as an American high school student. From experiencing the school day to taking part in activities and exploring experiences that may be less common in Germany, our students enjoyed sharing their culture while learning from their new friends.

We’re grateful for the connections and memories made during their visit!

From garden to salsa! 🌱

Last spring, Jefferson students planted vegetable and herb seeds. Today, they got to enjoy the fruits of their labor by turning their harvest into fresh salsa! What a delicious way to see their hard work come to life.
