A big thank you to the 13 volunteers from ADM Mankato were out at the Community Farm today! (and thanks in advance to the group that's coming out next Tuesday)

Volunteers helped harvest potatoes, pole beans, and flower heads for seed saving. They consolidated compost piles, worked to clear dead plants out of the beds (that got added to those compost piles), and went thistle hunting.

Make sure to check out the last photo of the full crate of potatoes they harvested that will be donated as part of our Produce Donation Program to local partners like ECHO and St Peter Food Shelves.

Are you part of a group who would like to volunteer at the community farm?

Ready to get your apple on?!?

Come spend some time at the beautiful orchard on Good Counsel Hill picking apples for donation to your community!

All apples will be donated to Community Partners like ECHO Food Shelf, Holy Grounds, and MY Place, or used to make c***r at LEC’s upcoming Community Farm Fall Fest.

No Experience Necessary! All Are Welcome!
All materials will be provided!

We highly recommend that you bring water and wear close toed shoes. Once the apples start falling to the ground, the bees get more active in the area, and close toed shoes help protect you from bee stings.

PLEASE NOTE: These events are NOT for personal apple picking. The Good Counsel Orchards are private property and volunteers are welcome ONLY at times listed above.

One of the best thing about a partnership is knowing that we've got each other's backs - we always know that South Central MN Food Recovery will take any over abundance of produce we may have and use it to make delicious healthy meals for those who need them.
But we are also here for SCMNFR when they need us! This morning they dropped off a load of lettuce that had begun to turn and so couldn't be used by them.
We took it all off their hands!
All the lettuce was added to our compost pile!
All the clam shell cases will be washed and reused when we donate produce!
All the boxes will be reused as well, if not for produce donation, they will be flattened and used to over pathways to keep the weeds at bay!

A big thank you to SCMNFR for working with us to ensure that nothing goes to waste!
