The City of Mannington is pleased to announce that it has been awarded an Urban Forestry Grant, which will facilitate the removal of hazardous pine trees in the playground area of the park, beginning tomorrow (Thursday), weather permitting. This work is expected to take 2-3 weeks to complete. Please exercise caution when visiting this area of the park during this period. The removed trees will be replaced with new trees and shrubs, thereby enhancing the park's appearance and ensuring a safer environment for visitors.

Going on now at the North Marion Senior Center in Mannington.

Chief of Police Donnie Wheeler reminds Mannington residents to clear sidewalks and streets in front of their properties after mowing, as grass debris can clog drains and pose a hazard to bicyclists and motorcyclists. The city's street sweeper is currently in operation, and leaving grass in the streets undermines its purpose. Failure to comply may result in a fine.
