For Immediate Release:

Manor Police Department Investigates Traffic Fatality on US 290

Manor, TX - On October 2nd, 2026 at approximately 10:00pm, the Manor Police Department, Travis County ESD No. 12, and Austin-Travis County EMS responded to a three-vehicle collision on E US 290 HWY EB just west of Gregg Manor Rd.

Officers and first responders arrived on scene and immediately began tending to the occupants of the involved vehicles.

First aid, including CPR, was administered to one of the drivers. Tragically, despite life saving efforts, the driver succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased on scene. The other involved occupants were uninjured.

A preliminary investigation indicates a vehicle traveling eastbound on US 290 approached stopped traffic and struck the rear of another vehicle. The impact pushed that vehicle into a third vehicle.

All eastbound lanes of US 290 between Threshold Ln and Gregg Manor Rd were closed for approximately three and a half hours while emergency personnel responded to the scene and the crash was investigated.

The identities of the involved parties are not being released at this time.

The Manor Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the driver who lost their life.

We would also like to thank our partners with TCESD-12 Fire, ATCMES, Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office, and Travis County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance during this incident.

We still expect re-development of showers and storms late in the evening and overnight near or west of the I-35 corridor counties.
