Mantoloking Police Department Mantoloking Police Department The Mantoloking Police Dept. was established in 1911. At that time, we had one police officer, who was Chief J. can.

Harrison “Hat” Herbert. He was designated as Badge # 1. Since that time, we have grown to 10 full-time officers including the Chief’s position. We are a 24-hour Police Dept. that is ready to provide the same services that any larger police dept. We patrol a 2.2-mile stretch of Route 35 in Ocean County, NJ, and our widest point is less than a half mile. The Atlantic Ocean and the Barnegat Bay surround us. We have a boat patrol that patrols the Barnegat Bay between Memorial Day and Labor Day. We also offer a “We Care” system that allows residents to give us contact, medical, and key information for their home that is used to help us help you. In addition we also have a Reverse 911 system that allows us to notify residents of an emergency or other significant event. Click this link or copy and paste it into your browser to register

⚠️ WEATHER & FLOODING ADVISORY ⚠️

We have a trifecta of weather conditions happening that will directly impact our community:

🌬️ Very strong winds driving water onto our streets and properties
🌊 Back bay flooding associated with the high tide cycles
🌧️ Heavy rain adding to already elevated water levels

PLEASE TAKE PRECAUTIONS NOW:

🚗 Move your vehicles to higher ground if you are in a low-lying or flood-prone area.

🚫 DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FLOODED ROADWAYS. Turn around — don’t risk becoming stranded or damaging your vehicle.

🪑 Secure or move anything that can float or become airborne, including outdoor furniture, trash cans, decorations, umbrellas and other loose items.

Please use caution, stay aware of changing conditions, and do not take unnecessary risks.

Contractors please make sure your job sites are secure before leaving for the weekend.

Stay safe, Mantoloking!

A message from Chief LaSpina-

I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who helped make last night's National Night Out an overwhelming success. The Bay Head Police Department was proud to once again partner with the Mantoloking Police Department to host this important community event, which brought together residents, visitors, first responders, and local organizations for an evening focused on strengthening relationships and promoting public safety. The event welcomed more than 250 attendees and featured a variety of family-friendly activities, including a petting zoo, a children's inflatable obstacle course, a dunk tank, music by DJ Paul Powell, and goodie bags for the kids. Attendees also enjoyed food provided by Between the Buns hot dog truck, along with donuts and churros generously donated by Broad Street Dough Co.

We were honored to have the participation and support of Mayor William Curtis, Mayor Lance White, and members of the Bay Head and Mantoloking Borough Councils. We also extend our appreciation to the Bay Head Fire Company, Mantoloking Fire Department, Bay Head Office of Emergency Management, Point Pleasant Beach First Aid Squad 34 and its Dive Team, and the Ocean County Sheriff's Office Drone Unit and K-9 Unit. Their presence gave residents the opportunity to interact with the dedicated professionals who serve and protect our communities. We also extend our sincere appreciation to our community partners, including Manasquan Bank and St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
National Night Out provides a valuable opportunity to strengthen the partnership between law enforcement and the community we serve. The positive response from attendees and participating agencies made it clear that the event was a tremendous success and highlighted the strong sense of community that exists in Bay Head and Mantoloking.

On behalf of the Bay Head Police Department, I would like to thank the Mayor and Council for your continued support of community policing initiatives. We look forward to building on this year's success and are excited to begin planning for an even bigger and better National Night Out in 2027.
