Winona, Wabasha, and Olmsted were the only counties in SE MN to beat out Dodge County. Thanks to all who help make Dodge such a great place to live and raise our families!

Your Sheriff,

Scott

A good steakhouse becomes the family’s default answer to “where should we go for a nice dinner?”

Here are my 50 best steakhouses in Minnesota, with Manny’s in Minneapolis taking No. 1, followed by Murray’s and Mancini’s Char House. Which spot deserves to move up?

Please join us in congratulating Deputy Isaac Gronseth and Deputy Ian Gall, our newly certified D.A.R.E. officers!

Both deputies completed two weeks of training conducted by Minnesota D.A.R.E. and were among 16 officers certified as part of Minnesota’s 59th D.A.R.E. training class.

D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education, but its mission goes beyond drug prevention. The program helps young people make positive decisions, develop safe and healthy habits, and build the skills to resist negative and violent behaviors—all while building relationships with law enforcement.

Isaac and Ian are now trained to teach students from pre-K through high school, with lessons covering drug prevention, va**ng, bullying and cyberbullying, su***de prevention, social media, and more.

We’re proud of their commitment to helping our children grow up safe, healthy, and confident.

Please join me in congratulating Isaac and Ian on their D.A.R.E. certification and thanking them for all they do for Dodge County! Their commitment to making a difference in the lives of our young people is something we can all be proud of.

Your Sheriff,

Scott

Due to todays forecasted critical fire weather conditions and current wildland fuel conditions, including crop fields, the DNR Forestry Burning Permit System and map will be set to No Open Burning – Campfires Allowed on 10/10/26 starting at 0800. Conditions will be reassessed to determine the status on Sunday. Small recreational or cooking campfires are allowed but discouraged.

Anyone who burned piles this week should be encouraged to double check them for any holdover heat that could rekindle. Portions of our area have also been impacted by long term drought so special attention should be paid to any fires burning over peat ground.
