Wannabes Movie
News Release
Oct. 14

‘The Wannabes’ will have its second and return showing at the Many Community Center on October 24 at 6 p.m. Admission is free.

‘The Wannabes’ is a movie that was filmed mostly in Many, Fisher, and Florien and had many Sabine Parish residents as actors. It premiered at the Many Community Center 13 years ago. Many people have not seen it, and others have expressed wishes to see it again. That is why Movies in Many is showing it once again Saturday night, Oct. 24.

Talented Phillip Wade wrote the script, produced and directed the movie and had the leading role. Wade is returning to Many for the movie and to tell people all about writing, directing, and starring in the comedy movie. He is also bringing some actors from Shreveport who had major roles in the film.

‘The Wannabes’ is about a man and his wife during the Great Depression who wanted to find a way to make some money. They decided to become Bible salesmen and went door to door trying to sell their bibles. Their encounters with potential customers often have hilarious results.

Some Sabine Parish citizens who have roles in the movie include Jared and Courtney Lapp and their two sons, Dean and Debbie Crittenden, Beth Martin, Rebecca Salter, Shanna Dees Gaspard, Susan and George Carnline.

Local scenes were filmed on San Antonio Avenue, the Fisher Commissary Store, and other local areas.
On October 24, people have a unique opportunity to view this movie which has so many Sabine and Many connections.
