Roses are red,
The Vikings wear purple.
They make our hearts race,
Like we’re running in circles.

So breathe nice and slow,
And give it a rest -
Watching the Vikings
Is NOT a cardiac stress test.

343 firefighters.
60 police officers.
2,977 lives.
One morning that changed America forever.

On September 11, 2001, first responders ran toward what everyone else was running from. 343 FDNY firefighters and 60 law enforcement officers would not come home.

They were fathers. Mothers. Sons. Daughters. Brothers. Sisters. Friends. Firefighters. Police officers.

Twenty-five years later, their courage still represents the very heart of public service: when others need help, you go.

Today, we remember every life lost, every family forever changed, and every first responder who answered the call.

🇺🇸 Never Forget. 9.11.01.

Huge thank you to Dr Paul Peterson from OMS Specialists: Oral Surgery, Dental Implants & Wisdom Teeth Removal! He volunteered his time to give our department education on facial traumas and airway complications - a niche but very important area of EMS. Dr. Peterson was a firefighter himself in Golden Valley and has a deep appreciation for first responders. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge tonight! 🧠

Fun Fact: our department is 100% volunteer run! This includes the chiefs, captains, ambulance director, etc. That’s a lot of heart and commitment in one building. ❤️

Today is Volunteer Firefighters Recognition Day, and we're honoring the dedicated men and women who selflessly serve their communities.

Volunteer firefighters respond to emergencies at all hours, train year-round, and sacrifice time with their families to help others when they're needed most.

To every volunteer firefighter across the country: thank you for your courage, your commitment, and everything you do to keep your communities safe.

Tag a volunteer firefighter who deserves a shoutout. ❤️🚒

🚒 Can we find your home in an emergency?

Every second counts when you call 911. Clearly visible house numbers help firefighters, EMTs, and law enforcement find you faster!
