Pressurized Irrigation Shutoff – October 15

Mapleton City's pressurized irrigation (PI) system will be shut off for the season on Thursday, October 15.

With colder temperatures on the way, now is the time to prepare your sprinkler system for winter! Proper winterization helps prevent water left in pipes, valves, and sprinkler heads from freezing and causing costly damage.

A few important reminders:
- Drain your sprinkler system before freezing temperatures arrive.
- If you have pressurized irrigation, you may shut off your homeowner's valve, but do not shut off the City valve at the meter.
- If your system uses culinary water, make sure your stop-and-waste valve is completely shut off.

Questions? Contact Mapleton City Public Works at 801-489-6253.

Thank you for helping us wrap up another irrigation season!

Louisa May Alcott Charter School Development | Questions & Answers

Mapleton City understands that the proposed Louisa May Alcott Charter School, located at approximately 1248 East 1200 North, has generated significant interest and questions from nearby residents.

What can the City require? What decisions are governed by state law? How will traffic and safety concerns be addressed? And how can residents provide input?

To help answer these questions, we've put together a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document explaining:

• What Utah law allows and requires regarding charter school development
• How traffic, parking, access, and student safety concerns are reviewed
• What development standards the City can enforce
• How the application review and approval process works
• How residents can share questions and concerns

Our goal is to provide clear, accurate information about the City's responsibilities and limitations while continuing to address concerns within the authority provided by state law.

Read the full FAQ on our website at https://mapleton-ut.gov/news_detail_T12_R375.php (link in link.tree) to learn more about the proposed development and the review process.
