We were awarded a Floyd County Community Foundation grant in their 2025 grant cycle to assist in replacing our fire helmets, many of which were well past their recommended service life. It took some time for them to arrive but we finally received them all and placed them into service last evening. Thank you to the Community Foundation for their generosity not only to us, but to many other projects throughout the county!

25 years ago today nearly 3000 people were killed in a terrorist attack on our great country. Those that perished included 343 firefighters, 72 law enforcement officers, and 8 EMS personnel. We will always remember their sacrifice and courage. Take a moment today to remember everyone lost that day and those that have been lost since because of those attacks.

9/11/2001 WE WILL NEVER FORGET!

Happy Labor Day everyone! Enjoy the day and be safe!

As we near the 25th Anniversary of the September 11th attacks we will be leaving the flags in town up all week in a show of remembrance and patriotism. Please join us in flying your own flags all week as well!

Had a great evening to do some water supply training with several other area departments. We utilized a rural hitch and then transitioned to a multiple dump tank operation and were able to reach flows over 1500 gallons per minute at peak operation. Thanks to the Floyd County Fair for letting us use their grounds to hone our skills and to the Heitz family for access to their pond for water!

Have you been out to the Floyd County Fair yet? We’ve had crews out working the grand stand events all week and it’s been a great time! We’ll be out again tonight for the demo derby. Stop on out, the fair board puts on a great fair with a ton of things to do!

If this isn’t perfection, we don’t know what is! Floyd County Fair
