The holiday season will be here before we know it, and planning is underway for the 2026 Marengo Christmas Parade!

Weโ€™re looking for local businesses, organizations, and community members to help make this yearโ€™s parade a great holiday tradition for the Marengo-Union community. Several sponsorship opportunities are available, and we would love to hear from interested sponsors by October 1.

The parade returns December 5, with opportunities to sponsor, participate, volunteer, or host a vendor booth.

Weโ€™re teaming up once again with our friends at the Marengo Police Department for our annual Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser!

Adult and youth apparel is now available in both black and pink, giving the whole family a chance to join in showing their support throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Orders placed September 14 through September 21 will be ready no later than September 30. Orders placed September 22 through October 4 will be available by October 12.

Weโ€™re fortunate to have such a great partnership with Marengo Police and a community that continues to support efforts like this. Weโ€™re looking forward to seeing plenty of pink around Marengo this October!

Twenty-five years after September 11, 2001, our communities came together at Marengo Community High School to remember the lives lost and honor the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice. Before tonightโ€™s varsity game, first responders from the Marengo Police Department, Harvard Fire Protection District, Harvard Police Department, Union Fire Protection District and McHenry County Sheriff's Office joined us on the field for a moment of silence and the traditional tolling of the fire bell. Thank you to everyone who attended tonightโ€™s game and joined us in remembrance 25 years later.

Never Forget โ€” September 11, 2001

Today, the Marengo Fire and Rescue District remembers the events of September 11, 2001, and honors the lives lost that day.

25 years ago, our nation witnessed a horrific attack that claimed the lives of 2,977 innocent people. Among them were 441 first respondersโ€”firefighters, police officers, and EMS personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice while answering the call to serve others. Of those first responders, 343 were members of the FDNY.

The impact of September 11 did not end that day. In the years since, more than 9,000 additional people have died from illnesses linked to the attacks and their aftermath.

We remember the victims.
We honor the heroes.
We stand with the families who continue to carry their loss.
And we will always remember the sacrifices made that day and in the years that followed.

We must never forget. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
