Youth Empowerment through Learning, Leading, and Serving, Inc. The community has since been renamed Franklin Gateway, in part due to the efforts of YELLS youth.

YELLS was founded in 2008 through a collaboration between teachers, schools, non-profit organizations, community organizations, and community members. Marietta High School English teacher Laura Keefe recognized the power of youth voice, and a community came together to enact that vision in the first YELLS program, the Mentoring Program. When Jevyn first joined YELLS, he was looking for guidance and support.

What he found was a community that believed in him.

Over the years, he grew from a YELLS “Little” into a confident leader mentoring others, leading community events, and preparing for college.

That is the power of investing in young people right here in our community.

Through June 26, your donation will be doubled through our matching campaign.

Last week, our ASP students had the chance to support the Life U Women’s Rugby Team, including some of our very own staff members, during the D1 Club Rugby National Championships.

The day before the semifinals, Mr. Darius led a Rugby 101 lesson where students learned the basics of the game and created posters to cheer on the team! On Friday, the energy was unmatched as our kids watched Life compete in the semifinal match, cheering loud for every play and celebrating seeing their staff out on the field.

After an incredible weekend, the team brought home the National Championship title! A special shoutout to our very own Ms. Brooklyn, who was named MVP! We are so proud of our students for showing up with spirit and proud of our staff and the Life U Rugby Team for representing with teamwork and determination. Safe to say that the team has gained some really big fans! Up the Eagles!💚🦅
