It was a bittersweet week for the 4th as we had the honor of retiring MAJ Steve McRae and his family after 27 years of faithful service and sacrifice. His leadership and care has been nothing short of amazing over the past 12+ years while assigned to the 4th WMD-CST. We are excited for Steve and Julie as they begin this next chapter!

Happy birthday to the 4th Weapons of Mass Destruction - Civil Support Team.
The 4th CST-WMD was organized and federally recognized Dec. 6, 2001. Comprised of 22 full-time Georgia Army and Air National Guard personnel, the 4th CST was one of the first ten such teams established by the Department of Defense. Since its establishment, the 4th CST has been active around the state and nation providing comprehensive expertise for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear response. Based at Dobbins, Air Reserve Base, the unit is capable of deploying 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to assist Georgia and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. In addition to emergency response, the 4th CST supports large-scale public events and routinely trains with state and federal agencies to maintain proficiency.

The Georgia Army National Guard Army and Air members of the 4th WMD-CST (along with a few of our kids!) were proud and honored to stand side-by-side with members of our local community in preparing the Georgia National Cemetery for Wreaths Across America - Official Page this year. Many community groups, friends, and families will be laying Remembrance wreaths this weekend on the graves of our fallen heroes and saying the name of each and every veteran aloud.
