In celebration of American Public Works Week, the Cobb County Department of Transportation will host a Touch A Truck event on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Cobb County Civic Center.
The event is free and open to the public, offering families a unique, hands-on opportunity to explore a variety of transportation and public works vehicles up close. Children and adults alike will be able to climb into trucks, meet the people who operate them, and learn more about the vital role public works plays in the community.
This family-friendly event is part of a nationwide effort to recognize and celebrate the contributions of public works professionals.

Cobb County Department of Transportation will host an open house sharing the proposed improvements for the intersection of Villa Rica Road and Irwin Road from 5pm - 7pm on Wednesday, November 19.
The event will be held at Cheatham Hill Elementary School, 1350 John Ward Road, Marietta (30064). This open house is an opportunity for the public to view the project, ask questions, and share comments.
There will be no formal presentation and attendees are welcome to drop in at any time to review the conceptual project boards.

Join the Cobb County Department of Transportation on Wednesday, November 5, for a Location and Design Public Information Open House at the VFW POST 5408, located at 4746 Cobb Parkway NW in Acworth.
This meeting will be held from 5pm to 7pm and will provide the public an opportunity learn more about two proposed roundabouts, one at the intersection of Third Army Road, and another at SR3/Dabbs Bridge Road intersection to the north.
There will be no formal presentation.

Have you passed by the intersection of Johnson Ferry Road and Little Willeo Road lately?
Safety and operational improvements are underway! These improvements will extend the right turn lane on Little Willeo Road, significantly improving traffic flow at the intersection. Construction expected to be completed September 2025.
