🌧️ FLASH FLOODING: WHEN MINUTES MATTER 🚑

WARNING! Flash flooding is especially dangerous because conditions can change within minutes. A roadway that appears passable can quickly become covered by fast-moving water, and it can be extremely difficult to judge the depth of the water or whether the roadway underneath has been damaged or washed away.

Please remember:
• Never drive, walk, or allow children to play in floodwater.
• Never drive around barricades or attempt to cross a flooded roadway.
• If water begins covering the roadway, turn around and find another route.
• Do not underestimate moving water, vehicles can lose traction and be swept from the roadway.
• During heavy rainfall, use extra caution around low-water crossings, bridges, creeks, drainage areas, and rural roads.
• If your vehicle becomes trapped in rising water, call 911 immediately and follow the dispatcher’s instructions.
