The Governor's 57 TAXES and FEES so far...and counting!

It's the last day of the spring legislative session in Springfield. We're expected to take up a number of bills today, but most notably the state budget. I will continue to fight to make life more affordable for Illinois families.

House Democrats just passed a bill allowing kids of any age to obtain birth control without parental consent. Springfield Democrats continue to attack parents’ rights.

Democrats talked a big game about affordability this year, but they failed to take accountability for driving up costs in the first place. Illinoisans are paying more because of Democrats' failed policies and unchecked spending.

Thank you to the Illinois Manufacturers Association for sharing commemorative Coca-Cola bottles with members of the General Assembly to celebrate America 250! More than 650,000 Illinoisans work in the manufacturing industry, bottling beverags like Coke, producing food to feed the world, creating life-saving medical equipment, and more. Thank you to all of the manufacturers across Illinois who helping to create opportunity and driving innovation!

As Illinois ratepayers face rising energy costs, Illinois Democrats continue doubling down on unreliable green energy policies that are driving up utility bills for working families. I am sponsoring HB 5524 and House Republicans have filed numerous bills focused on keeping reliable energy sources like natural gas and coal operating in Illinois to strengthen grid reliability and help lower costs for consumers.

May we never forget the reason for the Memorial Day holiday, to honor all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can be free. We may not know them all, but we owe them all. Be sure to take a moment today to remember our fallen military heroes.

We welcomed 'Miss Illinois Teen 2025,' Lillie Brown, to the State Capitol this week where she was able to meet another queen, State Rep. Nicole La Ha who was crowned 'Mrs. America' in 2022.

Illinois Democrats are advancing legislation that would allow convicted felons to vote while incarcerated. It is wrong to give inmates the same voting privileges as the law-abiding citizens impacted by those crimes. I will continue to oppose this!
