Congratulations to Kamira on receiving the Ohio Leaders of Tomorrow Award from Public Children Services Association of Ohio
Our hearts are truly full as we celebrate this incredible milestone. Kamira’s journey reflects courage, growth, and a powerful resilience that continues to inspire everyone around her. Her leadership and determination shine brightly, reminding us why we believe so deeply in the young people we serve.
Marion County Children Services is honored to stand beside Kamira as she receives this well‑deserved recognition. Please join us in cheering her on and celebrating this remarkable achievement. We are so proud of you, Kamira! 🎉💛

As part of her nomination for this award, Kamira submitted a powerful essay telling her story. In the essay, Kamira writes, “If my voice could change anything, I would change the way people treat children who come from abusive, neglectful, and unstable homes. They suffer in silence, hoping someone notices. I want more awareness of the struggles of children in these homes, but also of those children in foster care. I strive to inspire people to reach out, support, and remind children and even those who have emancipated out of foster care that their life is worth living. Every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and loved.”

Choosing a partner isn’t just about finding someone who fits your life today — it’s about choosing someone who supports the wellbeing and safety of your family for years to come.
At Marion County Children Services, we see every day how a child’s environment shapes their future. One of the most important decisions a caregiver can make is partnering with someone who is trustworthy, patient, and committed to creating a safe, stable home.
Your decisions today help build the foundation for your child’s tomorrow. If you ever need guidance or support, Marion County Children Services is here to help.
Together, we can create safe, nurturing homes where children grow and thrive.

Marion County Children Services encourages our community to participate in Drug Take Back Day. Safely disposing of unused or expired medications is a simple step that helps protect children, families, and our neighborhoods. When old medications are left in cabinets or drawers, they can be accidentally ingested, misused, or diverted—putting young people at risk.
By dropping off medications at an authorized collection site, you’re helping prevent substance misuse, reducing the chance of accidental poisonings, and supporting a healthier, safer Marion County. Small actions add up, and together we can make a meaningful difference for the children and families we serve.
Join us in keeping our community safe—take part in Drug Take Back Day!

📘 Attendance Matters in Marion County!
At Marion County Children Services, we know that when students show up, they thrive — in school and in life. Ohio House Bill 96 helps ensure students stay on track by addressing chronic absenteeism and habitual truancy.
A student may be flagged for:
• Missing 10% of the school year (chronic absenteeism)
• Having unexcused absences that reach state thresholds for habitual truancy
Strong attendance builds stronger futures. Let’s work together to support our students and keep them learning, growing, and engaged. 💙
If you have questions please register for one of these seminars!

Have you ever felt that gentle tug on your heart… the one that makes you wonder if you could make a difference in a child’s life?
