Families are invited to celebrate Halloween at the annual Marion Monster Mash on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will take place along a closed stretch of 7th Avenue and in the Central Plaza at City Square Park.

The 7th Avenue festival street between 10th and 12th Streets will be closed from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday to accommodate setup and teardown.

Hosted by FSB, Uptown Marion and the City of Marion, the Monster Mash brings the community together for a morning of family-friendly Halloween fun. Activities will include trunk-or-treating, face painting, yard games and arts and crafts.

Children are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite costumes and join the fun. Families participating in the trunk-or-treat should watch for posted signage indicating the starting location and designated route.

Parking is available on the street surrounding the event and in the six City-owned lots within the district.

Grand Avenue will close to thru traffic between S 15th St and S 22nd St starting Monday October 26 at 8 AM. Specifically, the hard closure will be in front of 1600 Grand Ave for an emergency sanitary repair in the middle of the street. The remainder of the properties can be accessed from the east or west of the hard closure.

The closure may remain in place for 1 week with street patch cure time depending on the size of the street patch. If the street patch is small enough, one lane of traffic will be opened during the patch cure time.
