Greater Egypt Regional Planning & Development Commission is proud to share that several partner communities and institutions secured Delta Regional Authority SEDAP grant awards as part of Illinois’ $3.1 million investment.
With Greater Egypt’s grant support, funding was awarded to:
✅City of Herrin
✅Franklin Hospital
✅Hands of Hope Foundation
✅City of Carterville
✅City of Pinckneyville
✅Southern Illinois University
These projects will strengthen local infrastructure, expand services, and support long-term economic growth across our region.

Delta Regional Authority has announced the opening of the CIF grant. These grants are for projects between $500K-$2M focused on community infrastructure. Please reach out to Liz Lively to learn more!

The Delta Regional Authority has announced available funding for the 2025 Community Infrastructure Fund, aimed at supporting economic and community development across the Mississippi River Delta and Alabama Black Belt regions. ✨
What’s available:
Grants from $500,000 to $2 million
Focus on public infrastructure, transportation, and flood control 🚧🌊
Why it matters: This funding, supported by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, is designed to strengthen local economies, improve resilience, and create healthier communities. 🌱

Within the five counties of Franklin, Jackson, Jefferson, Perry, and Williamson, Greater Egypt provides economic development planning and assistance, water quality management planning, local government services, technical assistance, and provides administrative services for local, state, and Federal programs such as Economic Development Administration grants, Delta Regional Authority grants, Community Development Block Grant, Enterprise Zone, and the Southern Illinois Metropolitan Planning Organization.
