Who is ready for Halloween? We are excited for it at the library. On Halloween -- Saturday, October 31 -- the library will be hosting an All-Day Halloween Bash. Join us for a day of Halloween-themed activities designed for all ages.

From 9:30-11 a.m., potion making will take place for kids ages 0-10. Enjoy a special story hour followed by a fun potion-making activity. A small snack will be provided.

From 12-1:30 p.m., children ages 11-17 can weave their own ghost stuffed animal.

From 2-4 p.m., adults can make their own besom broom while enjoying a reading of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

This is totally free to attend, but registration is needed. Family-friendly costumes are encouraged! To learn more or to sign up, call 209-966-2140.

The Mariposa Library, in partnership with Pedal Forward, Imagine This, and Yosemite E-Biking, will be offering a hands-on bicycle workshop on October 17th from noon to 2:00pm.

This is a family friendly event that will include discussions on general bicycle maintenance, safety, e-bikes, biking with children, and information about local trails!

This event is free to attend and no registration is required. Feel free to bring the whole family and your bicycles!

The library is continuing its tradition of an annual Pizza and Paint Night for veterans! But this time, we are teaming up with the Mariposa Arts Council. We are so grateful to them for partnering on this. This event was created almost three years ago and it is always a special evening. This year, it will be held on Tuesday, November 10 from 5-7 p.m. at the library.

Veterans and a plus-one can attend and enjoy a free pizza meal, and then be treated to a guided painting lesson from a local artist. Registration is required. Call 209-966-2140 to reserve a spot. No art experience is needed!

We are also planning to offer this same event in Coulterville in November. To avoid confusion, details of that event will be shared separately. Please contact the Red Cloud Library or call the main branch at 209-966-2140 to learn more about this offering in the north side of the county.

Share the science of adaptation and survival with raptors on Saturday, October 24th!

From 11:00am to 1:00pm, Bird Expert Cat Krosschell will be leading this amazing program, bringing you the beauty and excitement of North American raptors to you!

Experience the silent flight of a Great Horned Owl; stare into the eyes of a Red-tailed Hawk and wonder at it’s beauty; learn about the Peregrine Falcon while watching its movement on the glove.

This program will take place at our Red Cloud Branch, located at 10332-C Fiske Road, Coulterville, CA 95311

Our Library Comic Con is underway! It will go from 10AM to 3PM today. It is free to attend. We have special guest DC Comics artist Sarah Leuver here, facepainting for kids, presentations, free comic books, and much more! Please stop by at 4978 10th Street in Mariposa :)
