MassHire Metro South/West works to empower disadvantaged and disengaged youth by educationa nd employment in the Metro Southwest region of Boston.

IN SCHOOL
(Ages 14-18)
We collaborate with schools to implement a career curriculum for students in grades 9-12. We start with Career awareness: (Gr. 9)

This , we are highlighting some local & national Black leaders who are advocating on behalf of our immigrant & refugee families.

⭐️ Emmanuel Owusu (Founding Executive Director, African Bridge Network ) ⭐️

🔵 Emmanuel Owusu purpose is to help develop the potentials of the African diaspora toward the development of Africa. A native of Ghana, Emmanuel has worked for almost a decade in Urban, Environmental and Policy Planning with years of grant program management experience.

🔵 As the founder and Executive Director of African Bridge Network (ABN) Emmanuel and this brilliant team has developed strong programs, workshops & services support African immigrants in the Commonwealth. The African Bridge Network mission is to create a supportive integration network that enables African immigrants in Massachusetts to leverage their qualifications and experiences in order to maximize their potential.

🔵 Some of ABN’s programs and services include mentorship programs, job search and career advising workshops and fellowship opportunities. All of their programs and activities significantly contribute to professional development, economic stability and integration of the skilled immigrant professionals in Massachusetts.

There are many ways to structure a work experience, and there is certain to be a model to fit your company. We offer a range of structures, such as community project-based, observational, employer-driven project-based, and traditional work experience.

Exposing students to the world of work does three things:
- it helps them give forethought to potentials careers and the education needed to attain them
-it teaches them to work
-it provides students the opportunity to gain the soft skills so critical to employers
