Recently, the senior students in the Culinary Arts Program took a field trip to Ward’s Berry Farm in Sharon. They had the opportunity to explore both the agricultural and culinary aspects of the business. The visit included a hayride tour of the property, where students learned about sustainability practices and composting. They also visited the orchards and fields, planted basil seedlings, and received an in-depth tour of the kitchens, storage areas, packaging spaces, and loading dock operations.
Students discovered how Ward’s manages baking, catering, produce, and retail operations, all within a relatively small production space. The staff at Ward’s were incredibly welcoming, providing students with valuable insights into local food systems, farming, and culinary operations. Ward's Berry Farm
