Today, we honor the brave women and men of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to our nation. Originally called “Decoration Day” after the Civil War, Memorial Day became a federal holiday in 1971 and is observed on the last Monday of May. It serves as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made for our freedom and a time to remember those who never returned home.

City Hall and Offices Closure Notice.

Please note that City Hall and all Non-Emergency Offices and Departments will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

The community is invited to honor the brave women and men who served our country at this year’s Memorial Day events. Participate in the ceremonies and activities listed below as we remember and pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Flagging of Graves – Evergreen Cemetery, 133 Wilson Street on Saturday, May 23 at 9:00 AM

Memorial Day Honor Roll Run – Steps Off at Hildreth School, 85 Sawin Street, on Monday, May 25 at 7:00 AM

Memorial Day Parade – Steps Off at American Legion Post 132, 90 Maple Street, on Monday, May 25 at 10:00 AM

On June 11th, 12th and 13th, MEDC is teaming up with the City of Marlborough, the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce, the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce, and the MetroWest Boston Visitors Bureau to bring a FREE Regional Fan Zone to Kelleher Field in Marlborough.

Join us for three days of international soccer action being broadcasted on a jumbotron. This family-friendly event will feature food trucks, local arts and crafts vendors, sports-themed activities, and an incredible community atmosphere. With thousands of visitors expected throughout the region during the Foxborough games, this is the perfect opportunity to join the excitement right here close to home!

The Marlborough Floating Boardwalk is officially open for the season!

Thank you for your patience while the city completed accessibility improvements and routine maintenance in the area. Enjoy the beauty of the boardwalk and wooded trail from dusk to dawn. Whether you're out for a walk with friends & family or enjoying a peaceful nature break, please help keep the area safe and enjoyable for everyone by observing all posted rules.
