Thanks to our friends at Stitch This we have new hoodies, vests, light jackets (few nice Orange and Black ones) and shirts. They're available on first come first serve basis. They're for Veterans and dependents only; drop in during our walk-in hours Mon, Wed, and Thursday 9am-1pm.

There will be no walk-in hours tomorrow Wednesday 3/25/2026 as Mike will be attending funeral services for a fellow veteran and the office will be closed. Instead this week only walk-in hours will be Thursday and Friday 9-1. Feel free to call the office with any questions.

For those concerned about the new rule that took effect Tuesday, February 17, 2026: 📜
It is possible that the ameliorating effects of medication may now be considered when assigning a disability rating, depending on how the specific diagnostic code is written.
The VA is not going to automatically reopen past finalized cases because of this change. Regulatory updates generally apply going forward, not retroactively to completed decisions.
If you have submitted flare-up journals, personal statements, or statements from a spouse, family member, friend, or co-worker (VA Form 21-10210), that evidence must still be considered. VA adjudicators are required to evaluate lay evidence regarding functional impact, not just rely solely on a brief C&P exam or observations about how medication appears to help during a short appointment.
If you are not actively filing new claims, appeals, or requests for increase, this change is unlikely to impact you. However, if you file for an increase or submit a new claim in the future, the current regulations in effect at that time will apply.
The VBA does not have the manpower or authority to broadly review and reduce millions of finalized ratings simply because a regulation changed. Any reduction would still require a new examination and compliance with due process protections.

A message for 100% disabled veterans or the parent or spouse of a deceased veteran living in Massachusetts, and wondering about the status of your annuity payment:

As a result of the HERO Act, recipients now receive a single annuity payment of $2,500 every August. There are no longer February annuity payments.

Annuity recipients are not required to apply annually. However, new applications and changes to an existing application must be submitted by June 30th to ensure timely processing. To apply or to update your application, visit www.mass.gov/eovs/annuity or email [email protected].
