Public office is a public trust, and I believe lawmakers should put taxpayers first.

That’s why last week, I supported legislation to close Lansing’s revolving door by requiring former lawmakers and top state officials to wait two years before becoming lobbyists.

I also supported preventing sitting legislators from being paid to lobby while they’re still in office.

Taxpayers deserve accountability and transparency.

A great new resource is now available for families and child care providers across the Upper Peninsula!

The U.P. Regional Child Care Coalition has launched upchildcare.org, a centralized place to find child care providers, scholarships, career opportunities, business resources, and other support.

Reliable child care is important for families, our workforce, and the continued growth of our communities. This new website makes it easier to find the information and resources you need, all in one place.

Check it out at upchildcare.org!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this resource possible, and thanks for all you do to support families and communities across the U.P.!

Auto insurance costs are hitting too many Michigan families hard. We are working to expand options and give drivers more flexibility to find coverage that fits their needs and budgets. 🚗

This weekend was a busy one up in the 109th District! It was a pleasure meeting with constituents and visiting some of the wonderful organizations that make our Upper Peninsula communities so special.

I was grateful to join the Deerton community in celebrating the 100th anniversary of Deerton School! Congratulations to everyone who has helped make this school a cherished part of the Upper Peninsula for generations. Happy 100th anniversary, and here’s to many more years of success! 📚

I was also proud to visit Munising Memorial Hospital and UPAWS to celebrate the incredible work they do for our U.P. community. Thank you to their dedicated staff and volunteers for all they do to care for our neighbors and four-legged friends! 🏥🐾

Protecting Michigan consumers matters. I voted YES on HB 6098-99 to help prevent AI-driven price gouging and ensure Michiganders aren’t charged higher prices based on their personal data.

Today marks 25 years since our nation was attacked, and nearly 3,000 people lost their lives in the September 11th attacks. In the wake of the tragedy, Americans came together and showed the world the strength, resilience, and compassion of our nation. We stood united in support of our fellow Americans, our first responders, our military, and the families who lost loved ones that day.

Today, we remember those who were taken from us and honor the courage and sacrifice of those who responded. We will never forget the lives lost on September 11, 2001, or the families and communities forever changed by that day. May we continue to carry their memory with us and honor their legacy. We must never forget.

It was great to see the Ishpeming Fire Department unveil its new fire truck—made possible with funding secured through the state budget.

I’m proud to have worked alongside local leaders and fought to bring these resources back to the U.P. Our firefighters put their lives on the line every day to protect our families, and they deserve the modern equipment they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.

The Ishpeming City Fire Chief says the truck was made possible with the help of State Sen. Ed McBroom and State Rep. Karl Bohnak.
