October 21, 2026
The Marseilles Police Department is investigating a vehicle crash that injured one juvenile Monday (October 19, 2026) morning at the intersection of U.S. Route 6 and East 2659ᵗʰ Road. At approximately 7:33 a.m., Marseilles Police were dispatched to the location for a two-vehicle crash involving an SUV and a tractor-trailer. The preliminary investigation indicates that a tractor-trailer was turning west onto U.S. Route 6 from East 2659ᵗʰ road while a Honda Pilot was traveling east on U.S. Route 6. The trailer of the tractor was blocking the eastbound lane of traffic as the Honda approached the intersection, resulting in the Honda colliding with the trailer.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was assessed by medical personnel on scene and denied further medical attention. The juvenile driver of the Honda was transported by OSF Life Flight to an Illinois area trauma center. The juvenile is reported to be in stable condition as of this morning.
Illinois State Police Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement Bureau and Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit were called to assist in processing the scene.
No citations have yet been issued in connection with the crash; however, the investigation remains ongoing pending the completion of a traffic crash reconstruction by the Illinois State Police.
The Marseilles Police Department would like to thank the Illinois State Police, Illinois Department of Transportation, Marseilles ESDA, Marseilles Fire Protection District, and Marseilles Area Ambulance Service for their assistance.
