Marshall Fire Department open house

Well, 2026 Operation EDITH is complete! 🚒🔥

We have our numbers in, and unfortunately, we are down a little this year. We counted 1,342 lights, compared to 1,479 last year.

But that’s okay — that’s exactly why we do Operation EDITH every year! It gives us a chance to remind everyone about the importance of having an exit plan and making sure everyone in your home knows what to do in case of a fire.

Now we know we need to work a little harder to get that message out! 🚨

2026 Fire Prevention Week has officially started!

This year’s theme is:
🔋 “Charge into Fire Safety! Charging is a Superpower!” 🔋

Make sure you are charging your batteries the right way and using the proper charging equipment. Never charge batteries on or near anything that can easily catch fire, and always follow the manufacturer’s charging instructions.

From all of us here at the Marshall Fire Station, have a safe and happy Fire Prevention Week! 👨‍🚒🚒

🚒🔥 What a way to kick off Fire Prevention Week at the Marshall Fire Station! 🔥🚒

We had a station full of some pretty excited kindergarteners today! 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒

The kids got to learn about fire safety, practice Stop, Drop and Roll, tour our fire trucks and equipment, and make their way through our smoke house. They learned the importance of staying low in smoke and, most importantly, how to get out safely.

We think it’s safe to say the firefighters had just as much fun as the kids did! 😁🚒

Hopefully, the kids went home tonight and reminded Mom and Dad to check those smoke detectors and practice their home fire escape plan! 🏠🔥

🚨 Coming Sunday Night — OPERATION EDITH! 🚨

EDITH = Exit Drills In The Home

The Marshall Fire Department will be out around Marshall Sunday evening at 7pm with our fire trucks, lights and sirens, reminding everyone to practice their home fire escape plan.

When your family completes your drill and everyone is safely outside, turn on your outside light to let us know you have a plan! 💡

Take a few minutes this weekend to talk with your family:
✅ Know two ways out of every room
✅ Have a designated meeting place outside
✅ Make sure your smoke detectors work
✅ Practice your escape plan with the whole family

You practice fire drills at school—now it’s time to practice one at home!
