It was a pleasure working with Lucas on the Green Castle Campground Project!
Meet Lucas Wilson!
Lucas joined CGA in January 2016 and is coming up on 11 years with the team! A LeGrand, Iowa native who still calls the community home, Lucas says one of the most rewarding parts of his work is knowing that the projects he helps bring to life directly impact the places and people around him.
Rather than pointing to one project he’s most proud of, Lucas looks at the collective impact of his work. “Nothing brings me more joy than seeing family, friends, and neighbors enjoying or utilizing projects that I played a key role in.”
That connection also shapes what excites him about the future of Iowa communities. Working closely with local leaders, Lucas sees firsthand the pride people have in making their communities the best possible places to live and work.
One project does have an especially personal connection to one of Lucas’s favorite Iowa hidden gems: Green Castle Recreation Area in Marshall County. Whether fishing at the lake, visiting the bison, playing at the park, or camping, Lucas says it has something for all ages. As an added bonus, he served as Project Manager for the campground project that has become an important attraction within the park.
After nearly 11 years at CGA, Lucas also has a piece of advice for future engineers: “Be a lifelong learner.” Even after beginning your professional career, he encourages young engineers to continue approaching their work as students, with the intention of always learning something new.
We’re glad to have Lucas on Team CGA and appreciate the care he brings to the Iowa communities he calls home.
