Historic Martin This page is to inform and engage members of our great community. "Every community has a heart. It was about belonging to a group that was helping others.

We are not a government page but feel free to use our resources to help our community grow and help spread the love we have for it. Keeping that heart beating is what we do." - Dwight Young, National Trust for Historic Preservation
Historic Martin is A Group of Businesses and Citizens Working Together with Small, Steady Steps for Positive Changes in our Community. "It wasn't about being important, or being the boss or being in charge. It was around the energy. People were able to give up their self-interest and do whatever it took to get the job done." (Martin Cowart). Today, we have the challenge of restoring a foundation of our Downtown’s history. We have the unique opportunity of developing an area that our entire area, not just Martin, can come together for a unique shopping and entertaining experience. This will take focus, planning, flexibility and resilience.
