Become an Associate Member at https://contracostadems.com/join-democrats-of-contra-costa-county/ The Democratic Party of Contra Costa County (DPCCC) is a broad coalition of working families standing together to make positive change that matters. To accomplish this, we work every day – election year or not – to support and coordinate the county's various clubs, elected officials and voters. Using the power of our dedicated volunteers and allies, we help elect good Democrats, pass effective laws and empower our community to take action.

The Contra Costa Democratic Party condemns the latest attempt by Trump’s White House to restrict the freedom of the press. Banning CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House grounds has implications far greater than the direct impact to these three media. The First Amendment protects the right for journalists to report without fear of retaliation, and no news outlet should be punished or censored by those in power. Removing access to the center of our national government sets a dangerous precedent, one in which the President and his staff determine what Americans know and from whom they learn it.

We must continue to fight against these dangerous attacks on our press. Join us in supporting candidates this autumn that will represent our constitution and the American people.
