Today millions of people will be participating in the Great ShakeOut earthquake drill! Do you know what to do during an earthquake?

Happening on the third Thursday in October at 10:15 am, the Great ShakeOut helps spread awareness about what to do during an earthquake, and how you can prepare ahead of time. Many will practice by actually dropping, taking cover, and holding on. Others will take the time to consider where they are, what steps they can take if an earthquake hits, and what options might be available to them after the earthquake passes. The important thing is learning about earthquake safety!

The Great Washington ShakeOut page offers resources, tools, and videos to help prepare for when an earthquake comes. https://www.shakeout.org/washington/

They also offer a drill broadcast video for those who want to practice on their own https://youtu.be/vm2CvIkVUTE?si=qbMzWZH3vODRRMnI
