ASHUMET STATE BOAT RAMP & POND CLOSURE - OCTOBER 26-30, 2026

The Town of Mashpee is notifying the public that the Ashumet State Boat Ramp and Ashumet Pond will be closed to the public from Monday, October 26, through Friday, October 30, 2026, to accommodate a scheduled alum application being conducted by Solitude Lake Management in coordination with the School for Marine Science and Technology (SMAST).

During this period, all recreational boating and watercraft activities on Ashumet Pond are prohibited. Launching and hauling of boats at the Ashumet State Boat Ramp will also be prohibited for the duration of the closure.

Emergency access will be maintained at all times. The boat ramp will remain accessible to emergency response personnel and emergency vehicles in the event of an emergency.

The closure is necessary to ensure public safety during the alum application and to support the safe and effective completion of this water quality management project. The public is asked to plan accordingly and refrain from accessing the ramp or using the pond during the closure period.

The Town appreciates the public’s cooperation and understanding as this important water quality improvement project proceeds.
