Thursday in Grinnell!

Join us on November 5th at 2:00 pm for a FREE talk and immersive journey along the 1835 First U.S. Dragoon Expedition route in Iowa.

Professor Mason’s talk is a natural lead-in to one of the museum’s current exhibits: “The Land: A History of Farming in Poweshiek County.” Immediately following his talk, the Museum is offering docent-facilitated tours of the exhibit. Learn how European settlers converted the tallgrass prairie into an agrarian type of agriculture, taming the land through hard work. The tour is self-guided, but docents will be available to answer questions and guide you through the exhibit.
