Our Corridor team joined regional partners at the Rural Development Summit to share ideas for a stronger North Iowa!

President & CEO Chad Schreck led a session on why economic development matters and joined a rural business funding panel, highlighting how our Revolving Loan Fund can help small businesses grow.

Connecting businesses with resources and building partnerships is how we create growth and prosperity across Mason City, Clear Lake, and Greater Cerro Gordo County.

Economic development creates a ripple effect: businesses grow, jobs are created, people put down roots and communities gain resources to invest in a better quality of life.

Corridor President & CEO Chad Schreck shared that message with the Lake Leadership class during Economic Development Day, highlighting how aligning people, priorities and resources creates opportunities for North Iowa.

Chad also joined partners from Lake Pin & Play, Clear Lake Bank & Trust Company and the City of Clear Lake for a panel showing that collaboration in action. They shared how public and private partners helped turn an idea into a thriving new business.

Thank you to the Clear Lake Chamber for helping local leaders learn more about the partnerships moving our region forward!

We enjoyed being a part of the North Iowa Marketing Summit yesterday. It was a great opportunity to connect with passionate professionals across the region working to promote their businesses and showcase all that North Iowa has to offer.

After nearly 18 months of planning, coordination, and hard work, we're excited to see these newly rehabilitated homes officially hit the market!

Funded by the City of Mason City through the North Iowa Corridor Housing Development Corporation, these single family housing projects represent an important step toward revitalizing existing housing and creating more quality homeownership opportunities in our community.

Beyond transforming individual properties, projects like these help strengthen our neighborhoods, make better use of existing housing, and support the long-term growth of Mason City.

Four housing projects in Cerro Gordo County have been awarded more than $2.25 million through the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s Workforce Housing Tax Credit program. Together, the projects are expected to create 133 new housing units across Clear Lake, Mason City and Ventura.

The Corridor Board recently toured Kraft Heinz in Mason City, an important local employer since 1986.

The facility employs 166 people and is the company’s only ready-to-eat pudding and gelatin production plant in the United States. Kraft Heinz is also the nation’s fifth-largest food and beverage manufacturer.

Yesterday 60 Clear Lake middle and high school teachers stepped outside the classroom for Business Connections Day!

The North Iowa Corridor EDC, Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, and Clear Lake Community School District partnered to give teachers the opportunity to tour local businesses, explore career paths available in North Iowa and hear directly from employers about future workforce needs.

Thank you to the participating businesses and teachers for making time to connect education and industry before the school year begins!
