We had a GREAT time today! We hope the nearly 600 of you that came out for day one of our Creepy Critters Halloween did too!

And a huge shout out to all of the volunteers who helped make today happen - we couldn't have done it without you.

Day 2 10 am - 4 pm tomorrow - still plenty of time to enjoy the fun! Crafts, candy, live critters, a themed activity walk, games, and more. Free and open to all.

Event goes until 4 today - still plenty of time! And 10-4 tomorrow :)

The second home cross country meet of the season for Massena was at the nature center this evening. We love being their home course! Congrats to all of the runners on a great season - we hope to see many of you again next year!

And we get the added bonus of watching a bunch of our junior volunteer crew compete. :) Way to go Piper, Addie, and Liam!

Saturday and Sunday 10-4
Trick or treat at the desk after you enjoy some crafts, our themed critter walk, live reptiles from Her•petology Reptile Shows, learn about some creepy crawlies, play games, and more!
FREE. Costumes welcome but not required.
We hope to see you there!

Staff saw this not so little bird friend outside the center this morning.

The largest of our area woodpeckers, the Pileated Woodpecker is about the size of a crow. They are easily recognized by their size, bright red head crest, and face stripes.

These woodpeckers mostly eat insects in the wood of trees. You can recognize their presence by large, long, oval (some describe them as rectangular) holes they leave in a tree.
