Flu and COVID vaccination appointments are now being scheduled at the Massillon City Health Department. Flu vaccines are available for ages 6 months and older, and COVID vaccines are available for ages 12 and older.

Have unwanted tires? Take them to the FREE Community Scrap Tire Collection on Saturday, October 24, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Stark County Fairgrounds. Enter from Wertz Avenue. 🚗

Passenger tires only, with a limit of 10 tires per vehicle. The event is open to any resident. Agricultural tires and business disposal cannot be accepted.

🚗 Is your child’s car seat installed correctly? Let’s make sure!

Join Safe Kids Stark County for a FREE Car Seat Check at Nickajack Farms on September 26 from 12–4 PM.

Can’t make it that day? The Massillon City Health Department also has certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians available for car seat checks by appointment.

A few minutes checking can make a big difference in keeping our littlest passengers safe. ❤️

💙 263 FAMILIES. 2 HOURS. COUNTLESS HELPING HANDS. 💙

What an incredible day at the Massillon Health Department Pop-Up Pantry! 🥫🛒🥬🍪

We want to send a HUGE heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered their time, energy, and kindness to help make this month’s pantry such a smooth and successful event!

👏 Our amazing local residents and community volunteers

Because of YOU, we were able to serve 263 families in just TWO very short hours! ❤️

From unloading and organizing to packing, carrying, directing traffic, greeting families, and doing all the little things that keep the day moving , every helping hand made a difference.

Many hands make light work, and our community proved that once again! 🙌

We are incredibly grateful for the people and organizations who continue to show up for our neighbors. This is what community looks like. ❤️

💙 THANK YOU, FAITH IN ACTION HEALTH FAIR! 💙

The Massillon Health Department would like to send a huge thank you to everyone who made the Faith in Action Health Fair such a wonderful community event yesterday!

It was a great day filled with local vendors, helpful resources, free giveaways, fun, a delicious continental breakfast, and even a lunch basket raffle! 🎉

Most importantly, we loved seeing our community come together, connecting residents with local organizations and services that are here to help.

Thank you to all of the vendors, volunteers, organizers, and everyone who stopped by to visit. Community is stronger when we show up for one another! ❤️

🧡 Please join us in welcoming two new members to the Massillon City Health Department team! 🖤

Diane Barnes has joined us as our new Director of Nursing. Diane brings an incredible wealth of knowledge and experience following 20 years of dedicated service at Aultman Hospital. Her extensive nursing background, leadership, and passion for helping others will be tremendous assets to our department and the residents we serve.

Joe Heinzer has stepped into the role of Community Outreach Service Coordinator. Joe brings more than 20 years of experience with ADT Security, along with the valuable perspective and strong community connections he has developed as a local business owner.

Joe’s commitment to serving our community began well before accepting this position. Since April, he has volunteered at every one of our monthly Pop-Up Pantries, consistently showing up ready to work, support our team, and help local families. We are excited to see him bring that same dedication and enthusiasm to his new role.

Diane and Joe both share a genuine passion for our community and are ready to roll up their sleeves, build meaningful relationships, and make a positive difference in the lives of our residents.

We are thrilled to have them on board and cannot wait to see the great things they accomplish!
