Hoover Jackson Marine Biology is mourning the passing of a beloved former teacher, Margaret Peters. Miss Peters taught and adventured with us from 2002-2019. Her kind smile and sweet personality was the warm welcome we looked forward to each season and her sharp wit and prankster sense of humor kept us fully entertained. We will miss her tremendously and will think of her fondly every time we spot a Queen Angelfish!

View Margaret Mary Peters's obituary, send flowers, find service dates, and sign the guestbook.

Happy World Ocean Day to all of our past, present, and future students!

How do you do your part?

June 8th is ! 🌊Today, we celebrate and honor our wonderful ocean and the habitat it provides for countless marine organisms. 🦀 Continue to do your part in cleaning, saving, and protecting our ocean from the vast amount of challenges it faces every day!

We want to thank everyone who showed up yesterday for our collaborative cleanup with other Keys partners!

Check out this little blue octopus!

It’s tiny. It’s blue. And it has scientists awe-struck. A golf-ball-size octopus found on the deep seafloor off the Galápagos Islands is an entirely new species, scientists just announced. http://spklr.io/6045EMu5x
