⛈️ STORM SAFETY: Stay Safe, Matawan & Aberdeen! ⛈️

With heavy rain, strong winds, and the potential for flooding and power outages, MAFAS reminds everyone to use caution and stay prepared.

🏠 Stay indoors when possible
🚗 Avoid flooded or hazardous roadways
💨 Watch for downed trees, wires, and debris
🔦 Keep flashlights, medications, and other essentials nearby
📱 Keep your phone charged and have a plan in case the power goes out

And remember: Turn Around, Don’t Drown! Never attempt to drive through a flooded roadway. You never know what may be lurking beneath the surface… 🦈

Today, on National Police Woman’s Day, Matawan-Aberdeen First Aid Squad proudly recognizes the incredible women serving in law enforcement, with a special thank you to the women of the Matawan Borough Police Department, Aberdeen Township Police Department, and New Jersey State Police. 💙👮‍♀️

These three agencies are more than our community partners. They are the officers we work hand in hand with every day, responding alongside us during emergencies, keeping scenes safe, helping our patients, and serving our communities with professionalism, compassion, and courage.

To all the women behind the badge, and especially those within the three agencies we are fortunate to work alongside, thank you for your service, dedication, and commitment to protecting our communities.

🇺🇸 25 Years. We Remember. We Honor. We Will Never Forget.

Today, the Matawan-Aberdeen First Aid Squad joins our nation in remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We honor the innocent victims whose lives were taken, the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice, and all those whose lives were forever changed that day. We also remember the countless first responders and survivors who later lost their lives or continue to face illnesses connected to their service at Ground Zero.

Twenty-five years later, their courage, sacrifice, and memory remain with us.

As first responders, we carry forward the spirit of September 11 through service, compassion, and neighbors helping neighbors.

Today we recognize the hard work and dedication of workers throughout our community, including the first responders, healthcare professionals, public safety personnel, and volunteers who keep things moving every day.

While many are enjoying a well-deserved day off, our volunteers remain ready to answer the call when our community needs us. ❤️🚑

Today, Matawan-Aberdeen First Aid Squad joins communities around the world in remembering those whose lives have been lost to overdose, supporting the families and friends who carry their memory, and standing with those who are working toward recovery.

Overdose can affect anyone, regardless of age, background, or circumstance. Behind every statistic is a person, a family, a friend, and a story.

Awareness saves lives. Education saves lives. Naloxone saves lives. And compassion can make a difference.

Today and every day, remember those we’ve lost, support those still fighting, and help end the stigma surrounding addiction and overdose. 💜

🚨 BLUE & WHITE LIGHTS MEAN SOMEONE NEEDS HELP 🚨

You may see a regular-looking vehicle with blue and white strobe lights flashing in the windshield. While it may not look like an ambulance or police car, it could be a first responder heading to an emergency.

When you see flashing blue and white lights approaching:
🚙 Safely pull to the right and stop
👀 Stay alert and give them room to pass
🚑 Remember, every second can matter in an emergency

That responder could be heading to someone experiencing a medical emergency, a serious crash, or another call where help is urgently needed.

Give them room. They’re on their way to help. 💙🤍
