We extend our deepest gratitude to James, our MAPL Social Worker, and Laurie, MAPL’s Community Engagement Librarian, along with our community partners: Cristina from the Peaceful Pines Residence Memory Care Community, and Cathy from the Borough of Matawan for their remarkable dedication in planning, organizing, and executing a successful Senior & Memory Care Resource Fair yesterday at the Municipal Complex.

Months of preparation culminated in a fantastic afternoon brimming with information and connection! The event featured 23 dedicated vendors, including MAPL, the Borough, and Peaceful Pines. More than 50 attendees participated, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive from everyone involved. We’re excited to use this feedback, along with our own insights from this inaugural year, to make future events even better.

This was MAPL’s first venture of this magnitude, and we are incredibly proud that it was able to benefit so many members of our community.

What’s prettier than a pumpkin in the fall? How about a decoupage pumpkin? We invite our tween patrons to come to the library and add your artistic flair to a pumpkin that will look totally fall-tastic! Get those costumes ready, grab your candy bags, and prepare for a night of spooky, silly, family-friendly fun! It's Matawan’s Annual Halloween Boo-tacular on Friday, October 23 from 6–8 PM at the Matawan Municipal Building Gazebo Lawn (201 Broad Street). Note this year's new location.

Enter our Costume Contest – trophies for most clever, scariest, and best-themed costume for a group and get a head-start on snagging some Halloween candy all set to the backdrop of live music, and more!

Whether you’re going for cute, creepy, hilarious, or full-on Halloween superstar, we want to see your costume!

For patrons who have difficulty with traditional on-the-floor yoga, try this relaxing alternative with Allison Sorokin!! Allison, E-RYT 500, is the founder of Align Yoga and Strength, a local studio here in Matawan. She specializes in guiding students through smart functional movements connected with breath. She believes that everyone can do yoga no matter the age and ability. Her mission is to help people learn about their body and mind, improve posture, and relieve stress. No registration required.

Senior and Memory Care Resource Fair - Wednesday, October 21st, 3:30-6:30 pm
Join us for our first Senior and Memory Care Resource Fair! In partnership with the Borough of Matawan and the Peaceful Pines Memory Care Residence Community, the Matawan Aberdeen Public Library is offering information, support, and community for seniors and their caregivers. Find the resources, guidance, and connections you need--all in one place--to help you and your loved ones navigate the journey of aging. Come meet with businesses and organizations to receive valuable information, expert guidance, support for caregivers, and services for a healthier and happier road ahead.
