On September 15th, MountainHeart Community Services was excited to be part of the Greenbrier County Community Baby Shower at The Pines Wedding & Event Venue!

This event brought together an incredible group of community organizations and local partners to celebrate expectant families and connect them with resources, information, and support as they prepare for their growing families!

A huge thank you to all of our community partners who came together to make this event so special: Greenbrier County Family Resource Network, Aetna Better Health of West Virginia, Wellpoint, Seneca, Right From the Start, Greenbrier Parents as Teachers, WV Healing Home, Greenbrier Pregnancy Center, WIC, The Health Plan, The MARVEL Center, The Greenbrier County Family Support Center, and WVSOM Health Pediatrics, CASE WV, Village Caregiving, Patti Burdette & The Alderson Quilters Guild!

Families were able to learn about a variety of services available in our community, including newborn and mom services through WVSOM Health Pediatrics, Pregnancy & Postpartum Wellness through Seneca, and car seat safety and Infant CPR/First Aid with Aetna.

There was plenty to make the evening extra special! A sensory playgroup was set up outside for children to play and have fun during the presentations. Families enjoyed a taco bar provided by Alderson Big Wheel and delicious cupcakes from Taste of Heaven. The Pines generously provided the beautiful venue, and families had the opportunity to receive big-ticket baby items, essential supplies, and diapers.

We are so grateful to everyone who donated their time, resources, services, and support to make this event possible. It truly takes a community to support families, and Greenbrier County showed up in a BIG way! đź’›

Clear Fork 1 Pre K Head Start visited the Oceana Library today. While visiting Ms. Laura, the librarian, read a story to them. After the story the class was allowed to pick out a book of their choice with their very own library card. The kids really enjoyed this trip.

MountainHeart Community Services was pleased to participate in the Raleigh County Community Baby Shower on September 25, 2026. During the event, we connected with local families and distributed information about the West Virginia Birth to Three (WV BTT) program, MountainHeart Child Care services, and the growing need for child care providers to support working families. We also shared car seat safety pamphlets to help promote the health and safety of infants and young children. The event provided a valuable opportunity to engage with parents, increase awareness of available community resources, and encourage conversations about the importance of accessible, quality child care in Raleigh County.
