This morning members of local emergency services came together with our community to remember the events 25 years ago. Members of the Mattydale Fire Department were joined by Hinsdale Fire Department, NAVAC Ambulance and the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office to remember those that were lost during and after the 9/11 attacks.

We thank the community for the kindness shown today.

🔥 Live Fire Training — Building Skills Through Realistic Training 🔥

This past Tuesday, members of the Mattydale Fire Department completed live fire training designed to reinforce the skills, teamwork, communication, and decision-making needed during structure fire operations.

Training in realistic conditions gives our personnel the opportunity to practice fire attack, hose advancement, search operations, ventilation coordination, and working together safely in a controlled environment.

We want to extend our thanks to the North Syracuse Fire Department and the Hancock Field Fire & Emergency Services for joining us and participating in the training. Opportunities like this strengthen not only individual firefighters, but also the working relationships between departments that become critical when we respond together on actual emergencies.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the training possible.

Interested in learning what it takes to serve your community as a firefighter or EMT? The Mattydale Fire Department is always interested in meeting people who want to get involved.
