A reminder that Monday, October 12 is a holiday, so trash collections that week will be delayed by one day for all households. Monday collections will occur on Tuesday, Tuesday on Wednesday, etc. Friday collections will occur on Saturday.

Recycling Drop Off Center Events will be held at the 38 Winter Street DPW Facility on the following dates and are open to all Maynard residents. If you still have old trash or recycling carts, you may drop them off for recycling for free. Fees are charged for all other acceptable items dropped off.
• Saturday, October 10, 8 a.m. to noon (includes brush chipping)
• Saturday, November 14, 8 a.m. to noon (last recycling drop off center event until the spring)

Fall Curbside Yard Waste/Leaf Collection Days are coming up in a few weeks. These yard waste/leaf collection services are provided only to residents who are subscribed to the Town of Maynard's annual curbside trash/recycling/yard waste collection services. Your registered Town of Maynard trash cart must be curbside, next to your leaf bags (spaced 3+ feet from the nearest leaf bags) in order for your yard waste and recycling cart to be collected. Since leaf bags are manually collected, they do not need to be spaced apart. Because some households have only a few leaf bags, while others have a few dozen, leaf collection timing may extend a day or two beyond your regular trash/recycling day, so please keep your yard waste bags AND registered trash cart curbside until your leaf bags have been picked up. Collection dates:
• October 19 - October 23: Place curbside prior to 7 a.m. on your normal Town of Maynard trash collection day.
• November 16 - November 20:
• New this year, as part of your subscription: A final, late fall leaf drop off at the DPW facility AFTER the last curbside collection. Date/time to be determined, so check the website in mid-November for the date/time.

Looking for more information about acceptable items and fees for the recycling events or answers to questions like where to buy leaf bags? Visit the Town of Maynard’s website at https://www.townofmaynard-ma.gov/, then click on the Trash & Recycling button for full information on the services noted above. A registration link for the Town’s annual subscription program for curbside collection of trash, recycling and yard waste/leaves is there as well.

Be sure to stop by the Maynard Library to view the Community in Bloom mural - now hanging in the stairwell. Lara, from Pop Up Art School, taught two felted workshops at the COA and seniors had a wonderful time creating contributions to the art project. Many thanks to Sally Thurston for spearheading this special event.
