🌟 October’s Next Team Member Spotlight – Devin Sellnow! 🌟

Our next October Team Member Spotlight shines on Devin Sellnow! 🚑💙

Devin has been part of the Mayville EMS family since 2012, but his public safety career started long before that! At just 18 years old, Devin began serving as an EMR with the Iron Ridge Fire Department. It’s safe to say that helping others has been a big part of Devin’s life for a long time!

And it definitely runs in the family! Devin’s dad, Randy, helped him get his start as an EMR. The family tradition of serving others continues with his stepmom, Laura, an Iron Ridge First Responder, and his twin brother, Derrick, an Iron Ridge firefighter. The public safety family tree keeps branching out, too, with his brother-in-law, Scott, serving as a Dodge County Sheriff’s K-9 Officer! 🐕🚔

When Devin joined Mayville EMS, he was an EMR, but he didn’t stop there. He jumped right into the first EMT class we hosted in partnership with Lake Country Training Center. Since then, Devin has continued to grow and take on new responsibilities within our organization.

Over the years, Devin has worn many hats at Mayville EMS. He has served as our Fleet Manager, Instructor, and now Deputy Director. He was also the second full-time employee hired by Mayville EMS, and we are incredibly grateful for the experience, dedication, and strong leadership presence he brings to our team.

Devin also helped get Mayville EMS’s first responder vehicle into service. Anyone who knows Devin knows that getting a vehicle ready for the road is serious business—and when it comes to emergency lights, more is definitely more in Devin’s book! 😂🚨 Let’s just say you won’t have any trouble seeing him coming!

When Devin isn’t busy with EMS he enjoys camping and (sometimes, inside joke) spending time with Troy outdoors and with his dog, Brandy. In the fall, you may also find him supporting his extended family at M&T Gibbsville Orchard.

And of course, we can’t forget that Devin has a twin brother! But even though they are identical, I think we can all agree that there is no one quite like Devin! 😂

Devin’s years of service, dedication to public safety, and commitment to Mayville EMS make him an important part of our team. We are fortunate to have him as part of our leadership team and thankful for everything he does for our crews and the communities we serve.

Please join us in recognizing Devin Sellnow and thanking him for his many years of service and dedication! 🚑💙

🌟 October’s First Team Member Spotlight – Malia Selsing 🌟

Malia joined Mayville EMS in 2007 and dedicated many years to serving our community. In 2015, she decided to retire from EMS to spend more time with her family. But in 2024, Malia felt that familiar call to serve and decided it was time to come out of retirement and get back on the ambulance. We welcomed her back with open arms! 🚑

Malia is a strong part of our EMS crews, bringing years of experience as an AEMT and a natural ability to mentor and support new EMTs. She is also an adjunct instructor with the Mayville EMS Training Center, where she helps with skill labs and serves as a proctor when students complete their clinical time in the back of the ambulance.

One of Malia’s greatest strengths is her ability to remain calm, provide direction, and help students build confidence. Her experience and willingness to share her knowledge play an important role in helping us develop strong, capable EMTs. We are so fortunate to have her as part of our training team!

When Malia isn't serving her community as an AEMT, she continues to offer care and support in another meaningful role. As an office coordinator for a pathologist, she compassionately guides families and professionals through a time that may feel difficult or uncertain. WIth patience, kindness, and understanding, she helps families find the answers they need and take gentle steps toward comfort, peace, and closure.

And Malia’s dedication to helping others doesn’t stop there! She and her husband are also foster parents. Thinking about others and finding ways to help is simply part of who Malia is. She gives so much of herself to others, and we are incredibly grateful for that.

When she does find some free time, Malia enjoys spending time with her family and going camping. And here’s one more fun fact about Malia—she has a twin sister!

Malia’s commitment to her family, her community, EMS, and helping others is truly something special. We are incredibly blessed that she answered the call once again and continues to support both Mayville EMS and the Mayville EMS Training Center.

Please join us in recognizing Malia Selsing and thanking her for everything she does for our crews, our students, our community, and the people we serve.
