Today, the City of Jamestown, NY honored the life and legacy of Anthony “Tony” Dolce with the dedication of the Tony Dolce Riverwalk Bike Path. ❤️

A longtime educator, City Councilman, coach and community leader, Tony dedicated more than three decades to serving Jamestown. This lasting tribute celebrates his remarkable impact on the community and the many lives he touched.

County Office Closure Notice 📢 With the exception of emergency services, Chautauqua County offices will be closed Monday, October 12, 2026, in observance of Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Regular business hours will resume Tuesday, October 13.

🚌 ❤️ Help CHQ Transit “Fill the Bus” with Food and Generosity!

CHQ Transit is launching its annual food drive on Oct. 15 to support local food pantries and families in need this Thanksgiving.

🥫 Donate a non-perishable food item on any CHQ Transit bus and receive a $1 coupon off your next ticket. One coupon per donation.

📍 Prefer to drop off donations? Collection boxes will also be available at:
• CHQ Transit’s Jamestown office, 234 Hopkins Ave.
• CHQ Transit’s Dunkirk office, 2 Aero Drive

📅 Donations will be accepted through Nov. 16.

All donations will benefit the First Covenant Church Food Pantry, Jamestown SDA Church and The Lord’s Vineyard Church.

📊 Chautauqua County Legislature Budget Review Meetings

The Chautauqua County Legislature will hold its Budget Review Meetings Monday, Oct. 5 through Friday, Oct. 9 in the Chautauqua County Legislature Chambers at the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St., Mayville.

The public is invited to attend in person as Legislative Committees review the proposed county budget. Meetings will also be streamed live on the Chautauqua County YouTube channel. 📺

🚧 Dunkirk DMV Paving Project

Paving work is scheduled to begin Monday, October 5, at the Dunkirk DMV, 3998 Vineyard Drive.

The DMV building will remain open and accessible, but parking will be limited while the work is underway. Crews will work to complete the paving in one day, though an additional day may be needed for pavement striping.

🌧️ Weather Note: Inclement weather could delay the paving project.

Customers who prefer to visit another DMV location can use the offices in Mayville or Jamestown, or access DMV services online.
