Last Thursday was Garfield’s first IMSA Fusion meeting for the school year. IMSA Fusion is a STEM enrichment program that focuses on collaboration, mathematical thinking, and experimental scientific thinking. Our first unit is Fighting Fire with STEM. Learning Through Play in Mr. Denk’s Gym Class!

Our students had a blast participating in fun and challenging games during gym class! From Rubik’s Cube Relays to Messy Bedroom and Clothesline, our Giants practiced teamwork, communication, coordination, and problem-solving while staying active.

It was great to see our students working together, encouraging one another, and having fun!

Join us tomorrow at Washington Dual Language Academy from 4:00–6:00 pm and try the instrument you would like to play in the District 89 Band or Orchestra!

Beginners are welcome—no experience is needed! This is a wonderful opportunity to discover your musical talents, build confidence, make new friends, and be part of an amazing team.

Our 5th graders in Mr. Denk’s class worked together to solve pizza puzzles! Students collaborated, shared ideas, and used their problem-solving skills to figure out each challenge. It was great to see our Giants communicate, think critically, and support one another!
