Yesterday was the 106th annual sussex county firemen’s inspection day & parade hosted by Sussex fire department. The past 2 weeks our members have been working hard every night cleaning, polishing and prepping for apparatus judging and parade marching. Our hard work paid off and we won 1st place best appearing aerial and 2nd place best appearing JR fire unit! We want to thank Sussex Fire & EMS for doing an amazing job hosting and making the whole event an incredible day. Great job by all of the departments in attendance and we look forward to next year!

The annual county parade in Sussex is coming up soon! We hope to see you come out and support all of us!

It’s hard to believe it has been 25 years since that horrific day. Today we will remember all of those who gave their lives to protect others, the innocent victims of the attack, and those who suffered the lasting health effects. 25 years later, we still remember. We still honor. We will never forget.

Tonight, on the eve of the 25th anniversary, we remember the people who went to bed that night unaware of what the next morning would bring. We remember those who never came home. We remember the families who lost loved ones. We remember the first responders who answered the call. And we remember a nation that, for a time, stood together.

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day from the McAfee Fire Department! 🇺🇸

Today we celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America and we are thankful for the courage, sacrifice, and determination of those who fought for our nation’s freedom.

As we all celebrate this weekend, we encourage everyone to enjoy safely. If you’re using fireworks, keep a safe distance, have water nearby, and never leave children unattended around fireworks. We would rather see you at Mountain Creek tonight for an amazing show instead of an emergency at your home!

From the McAfee Fire Department, thank you for your continued support throughout the year. We are honored to serve our community.

We wish everyone a safe, happy, and patriotic Fourth of July!

God Bless America! 🇺🇸🚒
