We are excited to offer students in 7th–12th grades the opportunity to be part of the International Thespian Society, an organization dedicated to recognizing and celebrating student achievement in theatre.

Whether your talents shine under the spotlight or behind the scenes, ITS honors excellence in all aspects of theatre from performance to production. Students have the opportunity to earn recognition for their hard work and even achieve national honors.

McAlester Public Schools, in partnership with the Pittsburg County Health Department and the Choctaw Nation, will be offering FREE and OPTIONAL flu shot clinics for all of our staff and students.

McAlester Buffaloes Athletics - MPS will be hosting their 5th Annual Buff or Treat So Other Can Eat on Thursday, October 29th from 6:00-7:30pm at the Indoor Athletic Facility located at 1261 N. 6th Street. The event is free.

Gifted and Talented sponsors from McAlester Public Schools attended the Oklahoma Association for Gifted, Creative and Talented (OAGCT) Conference today at the Tulsa Tech Center.

During the conference, MPS educators had the opportunity to hear keynote speaker Dr. Brandi Klepper from Drury University and participate in numerous breakout sessions focused on professional development and strategies for supporting gifted and talented students.

We are excited for our sponsors to bring new ideas, resources, and strategies back to McAlester Public Schools and share what they learned with our GT students. Opportunities like these help our educators continue to grow while finding new ways to challenge, inspire, and support our students!
