From an award-winning memoirist whose powerful stories explore immigration, family, and life between Mexico and the United States, to a New York Times bestselling rom-com author whose work has made its way to Netflix, to authors writing for the Marvel and DC universes, and authors and illustrators from right here in the Rio Grande Valley, we have an incredible lineup headed to McAllen!

As we prepare for the South Texas International Book Festival, please be aware of a few temporary closures at Main Library.

The Computer Lab will be closed October 22–26. On Festival Day, Saturday, October 24, Main Library will offer limited services, with the Bookstore, Computer Lab, Study Rooms, and Quiet Reading Room closed.

Library services at Lark & Palm View Branches will not be affected and will continue as usual.

Thank you for your patience as we get ready for STIBF! We can't wait to see everyone on October 24!

Bring the kids for a special storytime experience at the South Texas International Book Festival! 📚 This Saturday, October 24, children can hear stories read by the authors who wrote them, including Chris Barton with "We Match!," Saadia Faruqi with "Ali the Great," and Varian Johnson with "Little Big Man."

It's a great opportunity for young readers to meet children's authors, discover new books, and enjoy a day filled with stories and family activities. Festival Day takes place from 11AM–5PM at Main Library, and admission is FREE!
